Wonky Trolley
Growing up in North Melbourne and having many precious memories of the neighbourhood, Michelle decided to return to the community that she loved and where she felt most at home.
Michelle abandoned corporate life to create an eatery that offers a homely vibe to the local community by making fresh and healthy homemade burgers for all to enjoy.
The new adventure began when she purchased Wonky Trolley in August 2020.
“The quirky name and the excellent location drew me into the store. This was the career change I was looking for and Wonky Trolley was the perfect fit,” says Michelle.
Not only does Wonky Trolley provide fresh and healthy food to their loyal customers, it also offers exceptional service where regular customers become a part of the Wonky Trolley family. It is a place to gather and enjoy the ambience.
To project the fun, vibrant and energetic vibe Michelle has made an abundance of changes to both the interior and exterior, including an all-new menu.
The house made wagyu beef and breakfast burgers are all named after nearby North Melbourne streets, with the best-selling product being the Victoria burger, Michelle’s version of a burger with the lot. It is packed with a house-made Wagyu beef patty, American cheese, crispy bacon, free-range egg, lettuce, fresh tomato, beetroot, caramelised onion, ‘wonky sauce’ (that’s a closely guarded secret) and herbed mayo.
The chicken schnitz is one of Michelle’s favourites, made from free range chicken breast and fresh avocado.
Wonky Trolley also offers a wide selection of vegan and vegetarian options. Breanna, Michelle’s daughter who works alongside her, is a vegetarian and describes her favourite as the Mediterranean Veggie Schnitzel burger. It features semi-sundried tomatoes, roasted capsicum, kalamata olives, cheese and pickles.
Pair a delicious burger with one of their classic or fancy shakes and some of their amazing sides or chips that’s a filling meal for one!
Customers love Wonky Trolley for its homely feel, the attention to detail and the service from the caring and committed staff who ensure that their meals are lovingly made to order using only the freshest ingredients.
“It’s important to support local, and I try to buy as much as I can from the local North Melbourne area,” says Michelle.
“We are grateful for the local support and for the locals embracing us. Our customers are amazing. We love this area and its people.”
