Lucas Mills
“I’ve always had a connection to this area,” says Lucas Mills. “My job is more than just buying, selling or renting property; it’s about helping people find a place where they can build their lives. For me, that starts right here in North Melbourne and West Melbourne.”
Nestled in a quiet corner that once housed a hairdresser, Lucas Mills Real Estate feels like your friend’s understated lounge room. "I knew it was the right spot when I found this place," Lucas says with a smile. "I didn’t want something loud or flashy; I wanted a space that matched the old world charm of these suburbs."
Lucas started out in construction, and that’s where he developed his sharp eye for the details that make a property special. “Construction gave me a solid foundation in understanding how a property is built, from the ground up,” he explains. “That knowledge is invaluable when you're helping clients buy or sell homes—it’s about more than just looking at the surface.”
Even with his background in construction, real estate was always on Lucas’s radar. “I’ve always been intrigued by the way properties can shape people’s lives - the right home can really make a difference to people’s experiences,” Lucas says.
After eleven years of experience at a large firm, Lucas took the leap and started his own business in 2024.
But he didn’t want to create just another typical real estate agency.
“I think the big companies often make it more about themselves than the property or the clients they serve,” Lucas says, "Here, we focus on the property and the people, not the brand. We offer practical advice, backed by knowledge and genuine care for our clients.”
The decision to focus on properties in North Melbourne and West Melbourne wasn’t a random choice. “Growing up in Strathmore, I always walked through North Melbourne and West Melbourne. These areas have such a unique vibe—a mix of old and new, with a strong sense of community,” Lucas shares.
"We’re still small, just me and Brooke for now," Lucas says, referring to his assistant and sales agent. "But that’s the beauty of it. It’s personal, and it’s real. We don’t rely on a big team to get results—we rely on our knowledge and our commitment.”
