Melbourne Acupuncture and Wellness Centre
“The body speaks to us; we just need to learn how to listen.”
Nestled behind an unassuming door, Melbourne Acupuncture and Wellness Centre is a sanctuary for healing and health created by Farzaneh Ghaffari.
Farzaneh’s entry into the world of acupuncture didn’t start with a straightforward path. Born in Iran, she had intended to be a professional musician - but it wasn’t until she was diagnosed with chronic pain and began her own health journey that she discovered the power of natural remedies and the importance of listening to the body’s signals.
As she settled into studying Chinese Medicine in Melbourne, Farzaneh began to explore different healing modalities, eventually settling on acupuncture. “I was fascinated by how acupuncture could bring balance to the body. It’s like uncovering the language of the body’s energy,” she explains.
This fascination set the stage for her eventually owning her own business: the Melbourne Acupuncture and Wellness Centre. It’s been located in North Melbourne since 2001, with the latest address on Leveson Street.
"When you walk into my rooms, you’re stepping into a space where your body’s natural ability to heal is honoured and nurtured."
What else makes this clinic stand out in a city brimming with wellness options? It’s Farzaneh’s deep-rooted belief in the power of personalised care.
“No two people are the same, so why should their treatments be? I take the time to understand each patient’s unique needs, both physically and emotionally. For example, I might decide to add cupping or herbal remedies to the acupuncture treatment,” she says.
Farzaneh’s approach is also empathetic. She understands that visiting an acupuncturist can be daunting for some, especially those unfamiliar with the practice. “I always take the time to explain the process, answer any questions, and make sure my patients feel comfortable and safe. The trust the people have in me - it’s beautiful,” she emphasises.
This compassionate approach has earned her a loyal following, with many patients praising her for not just alleviating their physical ailments - whether it’s treating pain relief, digestive function or fertility issues - but also helping them achieve a greater sense of overall wellbeing.
As Farzaneh puts it, “Healing is a journey, and I’m here to guide you along the way.”
