True Crime Walking Tour: The Crutchie Push

  • The Leveson 46 Leveson Street North Melbourne, VIC, 3051 Australia (map)

Take part in a true crime walking tour around North Melbourne and learn about the Crutchie Push.

From 1895 to 1915 a violent and bloodthirsty gang terrorised North Melbourne. They were one of the city's many push gangs of the time, however, the Crutchie Push would become one of the most infamous push gangs of the era for a number of fascinating reasons. The gang included a number of members who were amputees, often equipped with a crutch that they used as weapons. Their uniquely different abilities, their menacing use of the crutch as a weapon, and their barbaric antics made them one of Melbourne's most notorious gangs.

In conjunction with the release of the biography The Crutchie Push by true crime authors Roy Maloy and Deb Robinson, this immersive true crime walking tour takes you through the former heartlands of the North Melbourne’s Crutchie Push related locations.

The comic presentation and historically accurate storytelling will take you back in time.
