Hurtful Ways announces the arrival of Jeremy Beggs into the Americana scene. Featuring sweet melodies and complementary contrasting guitars to help highlight Jeremy’s strength as a vocalist and storyteller. The release coincides with an extensive run of live dates to start off the year, including opening for Matt Joe Gow and The Things Of Stone and Wood.
Hurtful Ways is a collaboration between Beggs and Matt Joe Gow after a chance meeting at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2022. The song taps into feelings of regret and inadequacies as we navigate through our relationships. The expectations from the world seem to have grown exponentially and that becomes a challenge as one tries to face up not living up to that reality.
For Jeremy, Hurtful Ways was written after a period of both celebration and challenge as he searches for the never-ending balance between career and family. “My family always comes first but the reality is as a musician, sometimes we are taken away from the ones we love” said Jeremy. “I’m constantly trying to find and keep that balance but unfortunately that sometimes tilts too far one way and requires equilibrium.”
Hurtful Ways was produced by Joe Gow and Andrew Pollock at The Woodshed with additional engineer support provided by Chris Elliott. The music captures the new Americana sound while holding onto the strength of Jeremy’s personal storytelling.
