Tribute Tuesdays

  • The Drunken Poet 65 Peel Street West Melbourne, VIC, 3003 Australia (map)

Don’t be fooled by his serious music, from the start Bob Dylan's work has been filled with a cockeyed humor that can range from corny jokes to dark wit.

The Hornets are bringing their take on Bob Dylan's humour to The Poet!

Bob Dylan is known as ‘the voice of a generation’ with such songs as The Times are a’Changing, Masters of War, The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carol, Hard Rain. But from his very first album Dylan has also displayed a lighter side with songs full of whimsy, corny jokes, dark wit and surreal humour, Subterranean Homesick Blues, Quinn the Eskimo, Bob Dylan’s 115th Dream, Po’ Boy, Motorpsycho Nightmare, Apple Sucklin’ Tree the list is endless.

May 31 will see a very special show at the Drunken Poet ‘The Hornets play the Humour of Bob Dylan’. This once only show will see Bruce Haymes, Jeff Burstin and Craig Horne, better known as The Hornets Trio present a side of Bob Dylan you may have never heard. Not to be missed.
