Hayley Mary found her footing in the original era of Indie-slease as the formidable front woman of ARIA award winning Sydney band, The Jezabels. When the band went into hiatus, Hayley founded Cult Of Helix, a London-based dystopian electronic concept project which landed on the soundtrack for Netflix ‘You’. During the pandemic Hayley returned to Australia, releasing three solo EP's, The Piss, The Perfume (2020), The Drip (2021) and Fall In Love (2021). These combined her trademark quirky, provocative, romantic lyricism with a more up-beat classic-rock/singer-songwriter style, which Hayley describes as "something lighter and nostalgic, necessary in a darker times", and landed Hayley tours with rock icons Liam Gallagher, Tim Finn and DMA'S.
Her new single One Last Drag, a gothic post-punk, dance-rock banger, may be sonically surprising to some fans, but is just another case in point for those who recognise Hayley Mary as an artist who is unafraid to evolve and go against expectations.
