Georgia Ray at 8pm & Katankin at 9pm

  • The Drunken Poet 65 Peel Street West Melbourne, VIC, 3003 Australia (map)

Georgia Ray is a Melbourne based singer-songwriter, bringing together a mix of indie, pop and country influences to create a new and unique sound, telling her raw stories of heartbreak, loss and hope. She has recently been recognised by the Nashville Songwriters’ Association International (NSAI) as ‘One to Watch’. After spending the majority of the last couple of years writing songs and recording home demos, she is now excited to share these songs with Melbourne’s live music scene in the lead up to her upcoming EP.

Katankin is the solo moniker of singer-songwriter, instrumentalist, and producer Helen Catanchin. Helen’s uniquely warm tone – simultaneously earthy and incredibly pure – and a true bard’s ability to deftly expose the beating heart of every song, along with her poetic and poignant songwriting style, all put their unmistakable stamp on Katankin’s songs.

Following an intensely productive songwriting period, Katankin has been using the isolation of the recent lockdown to record a debut EP, scheduled for release very soon. With a swag of brand new songs to share, join Katankin for an hour of intimate and compelling music.
